Lake Gaston
MACON, NC
This Lake Home renovation consisted of removing the existing staircase to completely open up the floor plan and create expansive views of the lake. With a small addition to the front of the home, the architect allowed the narrow kitchen and tiny pantry to be expanded while including the addition of a large laundry space. By changing the roofline, the architect was able to add transom windows which created a plentitude of natural light while extending the view to the sky and treeline. The new roofline also provided ample view of the lake from the loft above.
Before: The architect transformed this drab and dark space into a dynamic, light filled inviting space.
After: In this photo, you can see how the architect's vision of creating an open plan while connecting each space to the lake view was achieved. Clean lines, dramatic geometries, and highly functional spatial flow from one space to the next. This lake house is designed for comfort and entertaining.
