"Dawn did a small job for us - a screen porch addition on an older home. We needed an existing draft updated and some detail added to it. It was a smaller engagement, so I feared not being able to get attention in it. The site meeting was set up within a few days, and she quickly established that she was the right choice. She made some major changes to the draft we had, and we ended up with a better project.
She returned the drawings to us on time, met with us and the contractor and explained everything fully. The drawings exceeded the requirements we had put on her, including extra views and design ideas. She even included suggested furniture placement.
When I talked to her, she told me they were quick and they were good. I was afraid quick and good may not go together, but she made it work. Quick, good and right on budget. She'll be my first stop should I need an architect again."Project: Quaint Porch Addition

"I met with Dawn to discuss plans for a potential new home build. She was both gracious and helpful. What struck me most about Dawn was her creative, and even artistic, perspective. She not only thinks clearly but helped me think more clearly about what I needed and wanted in a home plan.

"We thoroughly enjoyed working with Dawn for our remodel/addition plans! She is professional, patient, and very pleasant to work with. We have an old-school ranch, and wanted to add more space while keeping it one level and not looking like an obvious addition. Dawn offered suggestions we hadn't even thought of. The resulting plans are everything we could have asked for, and more. We are very excited about the final result. “We had been noodling ideas for our Lake Gaston house remodel for about 3 years to no avail when we first met Dawn. She listened closely to our wants, dreams and budget. She came up with a plan outside the box and got us to see things we didn’t know were even possible! “Dawn Christine and her team solved a complex design challenge we have for a 75 year old historic house which we last renovated 30 years ago. The plans include creating an indoor/outdoor structure for our rear patio, extending our music/dining room, redoing our bathroom, creating a walk-in closet, extending the bedroom to include a screened in porch and adding a two car garage. Dawn created a beautiful 3-D schematic/video of our current house and the proposed renovations. The added good news is the design allows us to phase the project as our desires and budget allow. While we are in the early stages of this project, we have been extremely pleased with the quality, timeliness and warm spirit of Dawn and her team.”

“When faced with the realization that quality care from "institutional" memory care facilities for my mother-in-law was absent from our area, we looked inward--literally. The existing floor plan of our home was conducive to reconfiguring for an in-law suite but also needed a 11'x15' addition to fill out the 3 room suite. To do things right, and to preserve the integrity of the home, an architect was in order. After researching the web, talking to builders, and making some calls, nobody was available. The current building boom in Raleigh, NC has anyone of quality fully engaged; or so it seemed. I then happened upon Dawn Christine's website and thought this looks perfect. I left a message and to my surprise Dawn returned my call promptly. Not only was Dawn able to work with us she was able to make it happen quickly. From initial consultation to finished drawings the entire process was a pleasure. “Dawn had amazing design ideas for our kitchen and outdoor patio space. She listened to our goals for these important areas of our home and offered solutions which we had not even considered. She created detailed computer renderings which were extremely helpful throughout the process. She was upbeat, patient and determined to get the best outcome for us. There were many challenging aspects of our project such as uneven terrain and structural support needs. “Dawn came in, asked a few questions, and immediately started to lay out options for us. She was able to see things that we never would have thought of on our own. She came up with 3 viable designs, each with pluses and minuses. We talked through each of the designs, and once we settled on one, she began to flesh it out with us in more detail, and our kitchen expansion and renovation came to life! We added 750 sq. feet of space in kitchen and screened in porch. Dawn was patient, flexible, and creative, from big picture feel, down to smallest detail. There was a solution for every challenge we encountered. She took charge of the entire project from beginning to end. She was responsive, personable, yet professional, and her passion for her work was clear. We felt lucky to have found her, and we love our new space - it does everything we wanted it to do.
